Bollywood star Akshay Kumar is all set to make his debut in Telugu movies with devotional action flick Kannappa.
This high-pitched movie is produced by one of the powerful families in Tollywood, the Manchu family. While senior actor Mohan Babu is producing it, his son and actor Manchu Vishnu is playing the title role.
Kannappa is an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva, and this high-budget devotional flick is based on his life. Kannappa is associated with the pilgrimage place Srikalahasti. Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil people show great reverence to this Shiva devotee. Taking notice of the huge influence Kannappa’s life and story have on people, Manchu Vishnu decided to play his role on screen.
As soon as Manchu Vishnu announced making Kannappa, it became viral news in the film industry and people. It is being made on a budget of Rs 100 Cr, and the movie unit has already completed a schedule in New Zealand.
Now, upping the expectations on Kannappa, Manchu Vishnu has announced that Bollywood star Akshay Kumar is joining the cast. Sharing a video of Akshay Kumar meeting Manchu Mohan Babu on his official X (Twitter) handle, Manchu Vishnu announced that the Bollywood star will make his debut in the Telugu film industry with the Kannappa movie.
Besides playing the lead role, Manchu Vishnu also wrote the screenplay for Kannappa. Senior writers Paruchuri Brothers, G Nageshwara Reddy, and Eshwar Reddy gave the story. Mukesh Kumar Singh is directing Kannappa, which is expected to be released in India.
