Popular Dubbing Writer Ramakrishna No More

Popular movie writer Sri Ramakrishna breathed his last on Tuesday in Chennai.

He was undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital, Chennai when he breathed his last. Wife Swati and son Gautam survive the 74-year-old dubbing writer.

Sri Ramakrishna hailed from Tenali in Andhra Pradesh but later settled in Chennai. He wrote dialogues for several popular dubbing movies, which were dubbed from Tamil to Telugu. Some of the hit movies for which he contributed dialogues are Gentleman, Bharateeyudu, Aparichitudu, Oke Okkadu, Jeans, Mumbai, Sakhi, Chandramukhi and others. Rajnikanth-starrer Darbar was his last movie as a dialogue writer.

Ramakrishna has worked with popular directors like Mani Ratnam, Shankar, Murugadoss, and others in his illustrious career. In fact, directors Maniratnam and Shankar used to personally prefer that he translate their movies from Tamil to Telugu. Ramakrishna’s last rites will be performed in Chennai on Wednesday.
