Sankalp Reddy Movies
Sankalp Reddy termed Vidyut Jamwal-starter IB71 a prequel to Ghazi. In 2017, Sankalp Reddy made his debut as a film director with the Indian War film Ghazi. Ghazi was simultaneously shot in Telugu and Hindi. In Hindi, it is titled The Ghazi Attack.
Fresh out of Griffith Film School in Australia, Sankalp Reddy set out to produce and direct a movie based on submarines against the backdrop of the India-Pakistan rivalry.
Thanks to the support of South star Rana Daggubati, Ghazi, which started as a low-profile movie, turned into a big-budget movie, with producers like Dil Raju and PVP coming forward to bankroll it.
The Ghazi Attack movie tells an interesting yet complicated story about the bravery of Indian Navy personnel on board the submarine INS Karanj.
Sankalp Reddy successfully handled such a complicated script in his first movie, and he became a sought-after director in the Telugu film industry.
After scoring a hit in his debut, Sankalp Reddy took another complicated script about space exploration for his second film, Antariksham 9000 KMPH, in 2018.
Antariksham 9000 KMPH starred top stars Varun Tej, Aditi Rao Hydari, Lavanya Tripathi and others. Though it failed to make a hit at the box office, Sankalp Reddy’s work earned appreciation as a writer and director.
Later, Sankalp Reddy directed one part of Netflix’s anthology film Pitta Kithalu in 2021. Kalki director Nag Ashwin, BV Nandini Reddy, and Tarun Bhaskar directed the other three parts of the anthology.
