Vijayawada, Oct 17: Vijayawada woman Bhakti (name changed) successfully overcame a challenging journey of infertility, giving birth to a healthy baby after receiving advanced fertility treatment at Indira IVF, Vijayawada. The 29-year-old woman had struggled with primary infertility for over eight years, compounded by a diagnosis of diminished ovarian reserve. However Indira IVF gave her new hope and made her dream of becoming a mother true.
After multiple unsuccessful attempts at conception, including six cycles of ovulation induction and two intrauterine insemination (IUI) cycles at another facility, despite her challenging circumstances, she found hope with the help of experts at Indira IVF.
How Indira IVF gave new hope for Vijayawada woman:
Upon her arrival at Indira IVF, a thorough evaluation revealed that the patient’s ovarian reserve was significantly diminished, with an Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) level of just 0.9 ng/mL, which substantially limited her chances of conceiving naturally. Understanding the complexity of her case, the team led by Dr Kavitha Chalasani recommended a tailored fertility treatment plan involving Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), an advanced technique aimed at optimizing her chances despite the limited ovarian reserve.
Under the guidance of Dr Kavita Chalasani, the team at Indira IVF embarked on a carefully coordinated treatment plan that began with a customized ovarian stimulation protocol, precisely monitored through ultrasound and hormone assessments. Five oocytes were retrieved, of which four were successfully fertilized using ICSI. Two embryos were cryopreserved and later transferred to the patient’s uterus after personalized endometrial preparation. This meticulous approach resulted in a positive pregnancy test, ultimately leading to the delivery of a healthy baby boy.
Dr Kavitha Chalasani, IVF Specialist at Indira IVF on challenges of fertility care:
Dr Kavitha Chalasani, gynaecologist and IVF specialist at Indira IVF, Vijayawada, said, “This case underscores the growing challenges in fertility care today. Through carefully assessing the patient’s unique circumstances and a tailored treatment plan, we navigated the complexities of her case to achieve a successful outcome. This approach is increasingly critical as recent observations indicate a 5% decline in oocyte quality over the past two years, contributing to diminished ovarian reserve among younger women in Andhra Pradesh. This concerning trend not only impacts conception rates but also highlights an urgent need to increase awareness and empower women to take timely action in safeguarding their reproductive health.”
