In a major development, Telangana MLC Kalvakuntla Kavita, daughter of former CM K Chandrashekar Rao, has been arrested in Hyderabad. She has been arrested in Delhi Liquor Scam case. Before her arrest, Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials held searches at her residence in Hyderabad for more than four hours.
Kavita Kalvakuntla is the daughter of former Telangana CM and Bharata Rashtra Samiti (BRS) founder KCR. She has served as Nizamabad MP from 2014-19 and is an MLC in Telangana Legislative Council right now. Kalvakuntla Kavita’s name sprang up long back in Delhi Ĺiquor Scam case and investigation has been going on for months now to ascertain her role.
PM Modi-led BJP leaders from Telangana have openly made statements several times in the past that Kavita will be sent to jail. Especially BJP MPs Bandi Sanjay and Dharmapuri Aravind have been vocally talking about Kavita’s arrest. Finally she has been arrested today in Hyderabad. Incidentally PM Modi has been touring in Hyderabad on the same day.
