Telangana: Governance Begins

Telangana Governance Begins

Hyderabad, May15: The elections to 17 Loksabha segments in Telangana have been completed in the fourth phase (May 13) and the leaders and public of the state have entered a new phase with this. Telangana is being helmed by a new Government led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

Congress High Command has voted for Revanth Reddy, even though there were other strong contenders for the CM post. As a result, there are huge expectations on Revanth Reddy-led Congress Government in the state.

But due to Loksabha elections, Congress Government in Telangana could not jump into action on a full scale. Besides election code, the focus and energy of Congress top brass was on Loksabha elections, as winning as many seats as possible is necessary in the state, to strengthen Rahul Gandhi’s leadership at national level. Now with Loksabha elections completing, Congress Telangana leadership is all set to put its complete focus and energy on Governance.

Immediately after the completion of polls, CM Revanth Reddy announced, as elections were over, he will focus on Governance now. He even stressed that important poll promise of Rs 2 lakh farm loan waiver will be done before August 15.

As soon as Revanth Reddy was sworn in as state’s chief minister he implemented free bus travel to women in the state. Later in the run up to the Loksabha polls, free power and gas cylinder for Rs 500 promises were also implemented. Though Rythubandhu was delayed, finally it has been also cleared. Thus newly sworn in Congress Government sent a signal to the people that it is trying to fulfill all its poll promises and doing all that is necessary to win people’s hearts. In spite, the new government faced several problems and a section of people expressed disappointment.

“We are just 5 months-old Government. Moreover preparations for Loksabha elections has taken up most of the time even in these five months. Revanth Reddy Government needs some more time to prove its performance. With elections concluding now, CM and Ministers have already started focusing on administration. Soon Telangana people will see the fruits of new government,” said TPCC spokesperson Bhavani Reddy speaking to Yupbeat.com.

After dabbling in hectic campaign for over two months, CM Revanth Reddy held a review in Secretariat on May 15, to take stock of the situation. It is said that he will first assess the financial situation of state to plan for the further welfare schemes and development works. Besides reviewing Dharani, CM is also focusing on farmers issues. Filling government jobs is also put high on the new Government’s agenda. Thus the real Governance of Revanth Reddy led Congress Government has begun now.
